Featuring the Anchor of Hope. This Cameo features a rare subject of the Roman goddess Laetitia with an Anchor of Hope. This could have been a sweetheart gift for a lover that was going off to sea, symbolizing hope for a safe return.Note the intricate carved shell, concaved back, depiction of Laetitia with her pin curls, and waved hair adorned with a head bank, pearl necklace, and neo-classical features. Also note the two layered carving for accent and the color splashes. The carving is Pre-1900 and the setting is a little bit later, around 1910.
This is a nice large size, and the setting is beautifully flush with the cameo. Twisting rope borders the base of the setting and the back features a straight as an arrow pinback as well as a swivel bale that tucks under when not in use. I would rate the condition as excellent as I can see no issues whatsoever.
Tested several times and its at least 12K but could be 14K. 2.25 H x 1.25 W. All sales will be Final. Of course, I stand behind my merchandise. As as hard as I try to describe any flaw, if I have overlooked something I will work diligently with you to rectify so you are happy in the end. _gsrx_vers_856 GS 7.0.20 (856).
